What the government calls digital security to differentiate it from the security that requires guns and tanks.
Cybersecurity is to the government as security is to tech companies. They both refer to the security of digital systems.
This naming discrepancy can be confusing for those with no public sector experience, but makes a lot of sense when you think that the government is also in charge of physical security and people who deploy operating system updates should not be the same people who deploy tanks.
The confusion could be mitigated if we all agreed to call this thing "digital security".
